Experience C-UBI, a modern multiplayer game that reinvents hide-and-seek using interactive cubes emitting sound cues. Engage your senses and enjoy this innovative twist on a classic game.
Abstract
C-UBI is a multiplayer game that reimagines the traditional hide-and-seek by incorporating small cubes that emit sounds to aid in discovery. Players hide one cube while others seek it by following auditory cues. The game is timed, and if the cube isn’t found within the limit, it emits a continuous sound for easy location.

Concept
Players interact with C-UBI through cubes equipped with displays providing instructions. The hidden cube emits beeping sounds that increase in frequency over time, guiding seekers. A countdown is displayed, and if the cube remains unfound when time expires, it produces a constant sound to assist players.

Process Development
Developed over a one-week university project in January 2022, the game was created by authors Alice Brovelli and Matteo Subet. Responsibilities included source code development and product prototyping. The team utilized Arduino Nano RP2040 Connect boards programmed with MicroPython to enable communication between cubes.

Note
The project was developed during the Physical Computing course of the Master of Arts in Interaction Design at SUPSI together with my collegue Alice Brovelli.
